On Being Inconsiderate...

A lot of things fall into the inconsiderate category, though most of the time I think the person being inconsiderate is too involved in whatever is going on in their life to even realize they've been rude. I know I've been guilty of the same, realizing later that my actions weren't very nice, or that I wasn't very kind. Stuff happens - we're either on the giving end of the crap, or the receiving end.
But then...
Then there are times when people are purposefully inconsiderate though they know they're crossing the line. They know. They know and yet they can't seem to stop themselves. Or maybe they don't care about stopping themselves because their needs are the only ones that matter and they don't care about you, or anyone else. They don't care. They just don't. Because what they want is more important and they're going to harass you until you finally give in or blow a gasket. And they don't care if you're pissy with them when you do give in, because ultimately, they've fulfilled their desire. If you blow a gasket, then they claim you have issues, or that you need to chill, or a dozen other things that basically put the blame on you. Because if you would have just given in at the beginning, none of this would have happened. It's your fault for not doing what they wanted when they wanted it.
Oh, why did I give up Moaning Monday?
Behave!

Whew, I'm glad I didn't cross you today. Working with teenagers, I see lots of rudeness everyday. Many times they don't realize it or haven't been taught proper manners. Most will apologize and I never overlook bad manners.
On the other hand, in the past four or five years, I've seen increasing numbers of teenagers who are 'mean' people. They like being rude, like thinking themselves superior to others. I can only guess at their homelife. In teaching we have a formuala, for however rude, irresponsible, uncooperative or lazy a student is at school, multiple it by ten for how they are at home. I think rudenss is a learned behavior. Let's hope more people remember to practice and teach manners and kindness.

For a moment, I thought I'd taken a wrong turn and ended up at M1's blog... :)

I don't think a lot of teenagers or younger kids have been taught proper manners either, Sue. I've definitely seen my fair share of that. But then, when you look at how some parents behave, it's not wonder.
My teenagers both have, or maybe I should say had, friends they no longer hang out with because their manners appalled them.

LOL, Natalie!
I think I hit total saturation after dealing with phone calls and the crowded grocery store. Of course, teenaged behavior (from both my teens) didn't help either. And they know better!

I'm sorry if I was inconsiderate...I had snot running, uncontrolably out of my nose, and I was lonely. Seriously, it's hard to find people to hang out with you when you have snot running off your upper lip like a water fall. Mostly what I do when I run into someone who is inconsiderate is ignore them. They will get hit with KARMA. Trust me, I've seen it in action! Love you!

Jo, the snot is pretty damned inconsiderate! And gross! Lonliness is no excuse. LOL
You know I wasn't talking about you anyway!
You're right about the karma. I've seen it in action.

Whew! I agree with Natalie. Are you channeling M1? Great points. No excuse for it, but I find it is more the norm with more and more people. I'm willing to release the sea monkeys on any you find!
