More Snow

...There's more snow in the forecast. 2-5".
Which means that when I finally get to the grocery store for the required items needed for dinner, it will be packed with the bread, milk, and toilet paper crowd. Again. I really wish we lived where people didn't freak out about a little snow.
And I have to wonder what these people are thinking. I used to think it was a local thing - you know, a secret only people who have lived here their whole lives know. B has lived here his whole life and he doesn't get it either. Unless there's some kind of secret "Toast and toilet paper club". I don't know. I understand the allure of not wanting to need anything when it's snowing. Not having to go out. Wanting to snuggle up and watch the flakes fall...with your 48-pack of toilet paper, 62 loaves of bread, and 70 gallons of milk?
I know some people don't like to drive in the snow and I respect that. Though I'm the opposite. I just don't get the toilet paper thing. Or the bread thing. Why should you need more during a storm? The only thing I can think of is this...Bread = toast, which many people like with hot chocolate. Many people also make their hot chocolate with milk. And that much toast and hot chocolate makes you poop more?
I don't know. Does it?
Sorry I missed the weekend! Hope you had a grand V-Day with your loved ones. We don't celebrate here and that's not because my husband isn't romantic. He is. Very. But neither of us think you need a special day for that. We're such rebels, we refuse to acknowledge it! Ha! In fact, we spent yesterday hanging with the family at my brother's and watching Nascar.
Now...I'm off to stock up on bread, milk, and toilet paper.
Behave!

I've never figured out the milk and bread thing either. Thanks for hanging out with me for a little while on Saturday.
My husband always get me flowers on v-day though I would gladly skip it. To me it's all about the card and candy companies getting rich.
Have fun chucking this next snow over your head.

I was glad to be able to be there, Sue! I'm glad it went so well for you!
I with you on the card and candy companies! I'd rather get flowers unexpectantly.
You have fun with the snow, too! lol

I just figure people have an irrational fear of getting snowed in and running out. A woman I used to work with said when you have a houseful of kids who will only eat peanut butter sandwiches, you run out fast. But why no run on peanut butter, then? :)

But srsly, this isn't the Great White North! Last week was the third worst storm I've seen in my life, and we were all able to leave the next day. Even the two worse storms I've been in, in Massachusetts and in upstate NY, we weren't "snowed in." I suppose there are some people whose streets don't get plowed right away, but again, it's not longer than a day or two! Makes NO sense.

I don't mind the VD holiday's existence, but I told everyone I tell them I love them every day, they don't need a 30-second greeting card reading to know how I feel. :) Though I DID make the pork chops heart-shaped for dinner. :)

See? The peanut butter thing baffles me!
When we lived in the north we got snowed in for three or four days one year. I think it must be some ingrained tendency - like how you go crazy cleaning your house right before you go into labor. Huh. Have to think about that one.
Aww! on heart-shaped pork chops. I'll do stuff like that, too, but I won't buy a card on Vday to tell B how I feel! I'd rather be random and unexpected with stuff like that.

It always seems like the snow comes on the day that I grocery shop, so I have to go the day before because I don't want to be out on the roads when I don't have to be. So I go the night before, and all these crazy people have demolished the bread aisle like a pack of ravenous wild dogs - only they eat bread.

Who knows. It's like crop circles. A phenomenon never to be fully explained. I say just go with it and mock them on our blogs.

Same here, M3! My cart is overflowing with the stuff we need and everyone is looking at me like I'm the whacko! lol
Okay, I'm a go with the mocking! I wonder how many different theories we can come up with before spring comes?
lol
