1. We had a really great time in Delaware. Our cousins are awesome and so is our Aunt. Talk about family - they are just like us. I'm sad that we've missed out on so much time, but happy that we have a plan and have had the realization that we're all on the same page with our moms! The farm is beautiful and amazing and I'm so glad that it's my family.
There was no wifi there... I managed. I think it was actually good to be disconnected.... I think...
2. I did miss days in the 50/50 challenge, but not enough to kick me out! One was my cousin's fault for showing up way too early in the morning. The other was mine for being too tired to function...
3. The XBox fix didn't work. We need a new one and that's out of the budget. The kids are dealing okay. (!^) Yeah... like that...
4. I realized halfway home from Delaware that my drivers license had expired the day after my birthday. I had meant to take care of that... No more speeding for me... Yikes... All taken care of now, but OY! And my new picture SUCKS really hard!!
5. We didn't stop to see the beach because my granddaughter(s) and grandson were waiting for me at home! It was so fantastic to see K5, Baby B, and C! I'm so happy K5 is able to be a part of the family again. AND baby C was here when I got home! I didn't expect C to be here! I was so happy to see her! We got the first picture of all of our grandkids!
6. We're in the middle of a new week now... I'm writing. Preparing for retreat in 3 weeks - that's crazy. So looking forward to it!
7. Summer is coming. We have plans!
8. We're all set for graduation!! Yay! Can't wait to see K3 graduate!!
9. Dead chickens on the farm...long story...
10. That Man's mom is doing well and moved to a really great rehab facility that we're all happy with. She's doing great and we're all hopeful...
That is all for now...

The Weekend & Chickens...
I don't know what it is with my family and chickens. I think they're all nuts, especially when they offer refuge to random roosters.
This guy stayed over Friday night before going to his new home. He was very pretty, but very talkative, and loud - especially at 6:15 am. That was when he started crowing and he didn't stop all morning. All morning. On my sleeping in day...
He went to his new home Saturday afternoon and all was quiet in my house again...well, not really. The four chicks we are raising are still here - cheeping and stinking up the place. Those birds are always hungry. They're cute and it's cool for the kids to take care of them, but I'm ready for them to be ready to go to their new home, too.
The rest of the weekend...pretty good. Chapter meeting Saturday was fantastic as usual. Then hanging with the bff - which was fun and like old times, including me feeding her fish for dinner (no greenbeans though). Today was running around, homework, writing, and our niece's graduation party.
And...tomorrow is Monday again. I'm not ready. I need one more day in the weekend. Please?
School is out this week. I'm not ready for that either.
...and that is all.

Chickens...Again...
Yes...
Someone in this house is insane, and it's not me! (actually, it's everyone but me!)
There are four chicks. Two different kinds. Rhode Island Reds and something else (whatever the really tiny guy to the left is).
Currently, they are in the old rat cage on my dining room table with a heat lamp. They make a lot of noise. The dog is scared of them and the cat could not care less - right now.
Their names? Just remember you asked...
Fabio, Peaches, Xavier, and...the little guy in the picture? Dinner.
We will be caring for the little beasts for the next six to eight weeks...so expect updates, and possibly some better pictures.
We're under a severe tornado threat here, so I'd better unplug.

Chickens...
Yes, those are chickens.
And yes, they are in my dining room. In a cage, with old (very terribly bad) manuscript pages to use as a bathroom. The chickens were our overnight guests last night - on layover between homes. They accompanied B from work, and had a sleepover in our bathroom.
They were noisy, smelly, and caused chaos with the dog and cat.
And they were really cool. (until he started crowing at 4:45 am)
The kids had a blast watching them, feeding them, and keeping the cat away. The cat was very interested, which is why we had to put them in the bathroom with the door closed last night. (and let me tell you, going to pee at 2am and forgetting there are chickens in the bathroom is quite a shock. Plus I'm not sure I appreciated them seeing me with my pants down.) And did I mention the crowing? At 4:45am? And then all through the morning?
They're gone now. With some other chicken friends. And B and the kids are sad. They were cool, and I'm glad we were able to put them up overnight, but it just doesn't make good sense to have chickens in the house. (especially with the stink and the crowing thing), though if we lived somewhere we could, I'd definitely have some chickens of my own.
Someone told me chickens like to eat stink bugs. Of course, there were no stink bugs sightings while "Fred and Wilma" were in residence. (they were unnamed chickens and K4 thought they really should have names). I wanted to check it out, but the opportunity is gone. *Sigh*
And there you go...I really should save some of this stuff for Tall Tale Tuesday...
