I have this friend. See her leaning up against the Warning sign? And see that smile? She's always getting me into situations. Take yesterday for example...We ended up cleaning up the streets in the city for Habitat for Humanity. It was a long morning - and I had to get up at an unreasonable hour for a weekend. Then she made me pick up trash, rake, and carry garbage bags for hours. I have blisters.
I'm only joking. Beth is a wonderful person and I'm blessed to know her. We all signed up to do this community service project together. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't hard work. I'm aching a little bit today. I'd also be lying if I said I wasn't amazed by some of the stuff we saw yesterday. K4 was in charge of the camera, so there's a lot of pictures of glass, bones, signs, and people who would prefer their photograph not be posted here. I've only found a few I can put up. I'll expand on the experience as I post the photos, but let me just say Habitat for Humanity is a wonderful organization. I have no doubts we'll work with them again in the future.
Oh, and after four hours of walking, bending, raking, ect. ect.? We came home and did yard work. No nap. No rest time other than a quick lunch. I'm surprised I'm alive today.
