I'm slayed...
I broke a molar. Eating salad.
Said molar was fixed by my dentist tonight. Lucky for me, the breakage didn't cause me any pain and they were able to fix it so I still have a surface. It took less than twenty minutes, but now my head hurts and my mouth is kind of uncomfortable from having two people's hands inside. But it's okay. I didn't get any numbing, even though he drilled.
K4 broke her glasses...
We met to get them fixed tonight on my way to the dentist. It took the shop less than two minutes to fix them. That's a good thing, but it meant that my time table for getting to the dentist was thrown off (I thought it would be longer). I ran over to get gas and ran into K4 getting food on her way home. Ha!
The Day Job was long and tough and busy and crazy...
There's no other for that one... It'll be the same tomorrow.
So now we're just at stuff...
It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow, which means the top is going up on the Jeep tomorrow night. I know my limits as far as how cold it can be to survive an early morning trip with the top down and we'll be under that by the end of the week.
Plans coming together for That Man and I's weekend away. Whoot. Whoot! (There cannot be too many whoots for this!)
That is all. I'm going to try to write now. Even though I should be in bed (and K4 keeps stealing my mouse usb...)

Monday Madness...
Ugh. Monday. You suck.
And here's why:
In no particular order...
One of my favorite co-workers is leaving. She put her notice in today. I'm sad, but she has to do what she has to do.
Visiting family in the hospital. I just wish the docs could figure out what's going on. Frustrating.
Not getting any writing done.
Being dead tired.
What's good about today?
Plans coming together for That Man and I's weekend.
Driving with the top down on the Jeep.
Starting to think about the Beach next year.
In other news...
The weekend was a blur of grandson, cleaning, running around, and exhaustion... Today could have easily been another weekend day to just rest and relax. Why aren't weekends 3 days long again?
Okay. That is all.

Only Wednesday?
So for most of the day, I thought it was Thursday.
I don't know why.
It was very disappointing to fully realize that today is Wednesday. This happened around lunch time. I was disturbed. Ugh.
Long day at the Day Job. Okay. It is what it is.
Walk with That Man. Check.
Good dinner. Check.
2k words on the page. Check.
Bedtime soon? Yes.
So tomorrow is actually Thursday. That's a very good thing.

Oh, Tuesday...
Why you gotta be so rough all the time?
The Day Job is rough - I spent the day putting out fires, and that doesn't seem like it's going to change. And busy! Oy! But, I try really hard to leave that stress in the parking lot and not bring it home with me. Occasionally, I need to download with That Man, but it's usually a quick session.
We had an early morning with an orthodontist appointment. K4 is in pain and will be until these teeth finally come through. One is close. The other is the one that needs surgery again. Oy!
But there was good stuff today, too...
Driving with the top down on the Jeep. That sucker is staying down as long as possible! I don't care if it's a little chilly in the morning - it's gorgeous on the way home. So worth it. Thought we might get some rain today, but it never happened, so...
Talking a walk with That Man while waiting for dinner to be done. (That's what happens when your chicken is still frozen...) He started everything, then we took a walk, and finished when we got home.
On a side note - I have already blogged more this year than the past two years combined. That's a good sign...
Now I will go write...
On Friday, I'll be on my friend Julie's blog. I already have the link scheduled. Check it out... And don't forget Into the Fire is still available.! It's only $3.99 on Amazon. And don't forget... if you're a Kindle Unlimited user, I don't get a dime until you actually read it.

Weekend's End...
I'm sad that it's Sunday evening. I could really use a few more days to get things done around here.
Didn't really sleep in today, but went to bed pretty early, so I guess that's okay. K4 and I continued watching our show and we pretty much just lazed around for most of the morning. That was nice.
Then, it was cleaning. The living room is de-animal haired and dusted. I even pulled out the couches and cleaned under the cushions. The stairs and kitchen have been cleaned. The only thing I didn't get done was mopping, but there was too much chaos for it to even matter since Mr. B was "helping" me until his friends came to get him to go and play. That Man did our room, including putting away laundry and going through his drawers. Didn't get to the laundry, but that's okay. It's almost done anyway. Or it was. lol
Made awesome burgers on the grill for dinner. With fresh tomatoes from our garden. Very nice. The garden is almost done though. We still have many green tomatoes on, and some peppers still growing, but the tomato vines are dying out. I guess it is that time. Next year I want to do better. I did better this year than last, so that's something. I also have some Missouri garlic planted in there, which will take at least two seasons to produce, but I'm looking forward to that.
I did write last night and am in the middle of writing now. I still need a title for this book, but it'll come. I need to figure some more stuff out, which I'm thinking about. Once I meet my writing goal for the month, I'll head over and edit my short for the next installment of the free book. This one is "The Second Sentence".
That's about it. The writing is calling me. Yeah, I'm still wishing I could be home full time to write again, but those pesky bills insist on being paid. Jerks.

Feel Good Friday - The Saturday Edition
I'm a day late, but, to be honest, it was worth it.
Last night That Man and I went on a "date night". We haven't had one of those since probably early June, if not before that. Yeah, we went to Missouri just the two of us, which was awesome, but except for the drive (when one of us was usually sleeping), and the few meals we stopped for, we were "visiting" and didn't really have one on one time. I don't even know why I'm justifying that - that was at the beginning of July and it's September, FFS.
Anyway, we had a good time just the two of us, despite it all. Went to one of our favorite restaurants, but our experience was less than awesome. I actually did email them, because I couldn't stop thinking about what happened and the look on That Man's face as he tried to eat. I don't know if they'll answer. It doesn't really matter - I just wanted to let them know because, in our experience with them, our evening was unacceptable. We had great conversation, which was much needed. That was the best part.
Slept in a tiny bit this morning, but was awakened by Mr. B - excited to be home and excited about his new bedroom. We hung out and laughed a bunch. Then, helped him get his stuff situated into his room. Did some laundry. Caught up on email. Played with the Fire TV stick.
Then, I did something just for me. I took off in the Jeep. With the top down. Got myself a little lunch. Played music super loud. Then, went to Misty and Donna's book signing and hung out. It was awesome to be among friends, and in a bookstore. I stayed far longer than I'd expected. Bought the books, had them signed, and enjoyed my friends. Then, I did some running around - Super Store for a new mouse for K4 (which was lost at school), then grocery shopping (saved like $32.00 in coupons). Yeah, exciting, but I was by myself, in my Jeep with the top down. I didn't mind one bit. One of the best parts was driving on the highway and looking up at the clear blue sky and the white puffy clouds overhead. It's probably the first time I've smiled when I've been by myself in ages. And I sang in the car (sorry fellow travelers).
When I got home, I put away groceries, K4 and I started catching up on one of the shows we enjoy watching together, and then That Man came home after working and helping K3 with his car. I made dinner, switched laundry, hugged my boy when he stopped by to have his dad try to figure out why his car is making a noise, and now we're here. We're actually watching "The Incredibles" with no grandson, so yeah, we're lame and stuff. (It's a great movie, though)
Tomorrow I have to get serious on this cleaning business stuff. Seriously. The vacuum needs to be run in a most vital way. Laundry needs to be folded, my room is a wreck. And the dining room needs to be cleaned. Oy!
That is all.

Almost Friday!
What a week so far! So happy tomorrow is Friday! I'm so looking forward to the weekend, despite the fact that I have a lot of cleaning to take care of.
Not much has happened since Tuesday, except the Day Job, and room stuff... The room is done though! Yay and it looks pretty awesome, too! Tonight we went out and picked up an area rug and curtains at the discount bargain outlet. We grabbed an area rug for K4's room, too - for the side that's not finished yet (that's next).
My Jeep is back on the road! So happy! Now if it would just stop raining long enough for me to put the top down!
We also bought a Fire Stick for our TV. K4 took the Xbox to her new room, so that left us without Netflix, etc. We just got it tonight, so we're checking it out. The picture is really great though - so much sharper and clearer than watching cable. We're excited to see what all it does.
My writing week has sucked pretty hard, but hopefully Saturday that will change.

Tuesday Musings...
1. It's been a long week already and it's only Tuesday. Oy!
2. The bedroom is coming along nicely. The stinky carpet is gone. The third coat of the bright color is done. We will start sanding the floor tomorrow in preparation for the floor paint. Almost there.
3. Writing - I've been critiquing the past few days. Done with that so actual writing is next. The next book is coming along nicely though.
4. Got my royalty statement - Oy! It's not the best. :(
5. The weather is wonderful and I love it.
6. K4 has to have yet another mouth surgery. Oy!
7. I need to post a picture of the cactus I brought home from the beach last year! It's alive! It looked like it was dying for a little bit, but it's back and I'm so happy!
That's all for now. Like I said, it's only Tuesday....

Feel Good Friday!
Here's the list!
1. Friday! Duh! Thank you, Friday! You are the best!
2. Living through the Day Job! Oy! What a week and it was only four days long! Busy is not enough to describe it! Crazy doesn't even come close! I lived through it though.
3. Getting stuff done. We painted for hours tonight. Trim is almost done. Just a little more paint, and then flooring... Oh geeze...
4. Critiquing. I did one awesome story this week. I have two more to go. I love this.
5. Also, critiquing means I haven't written yet this week, but I will!
6. That Man and I trying to find a place to go just the two of us. So far, we have nothing except a weekend and a tiny budget. Oh and a lot of hope and expectation. Remember we were working on this last year? Yeah. It hasn't happened yet, but it will. I swear by all that is Holy, it will!
7. Sleeping in tomorrow!
8. Weekend plans... Painting? You don't say! Cleaning? Also, yeah. Writing? Absolutely.
9. Quiet backyards. That's all I'm going to say about that.
10. Cooking plans. I did the grocery run to make it happen. Excited about cooking!
I think that is all for now.

Woah! Wednesday?
I guess time does fly when you're having fun!
Let's back up...
Friday:
Day job. Running around like a crazy person when I got home to head to The Wilds. Get there to find the camper set up and stuff in place. YAY! Unload the groceries. Head to my sister's to wait for the aunt and uncle to arrive. Have some food and laughs. Finally the relatives arrive and we hang out and have awesome conversation. Head to The Wilds to have an awesome nights sleep.
Saturday:
Wake to rain. Awesome! And actual sleeping in. Head up to my sister's for coffee and breakfast. Make homemade donuts and bacon. Lot's of conversation, laughter, awesomeness. My brother and sister-in-law arrive. They make an amazing dinner. Basically a fantastic day with lots and lots of rain. Go again to sleep in The Wilds.
Sunday:
No rain. Chilly, but sun begins to shine. That Man has some stuff to do. Mr. B is in my care since his dad has to work. We make cole slaw and do a bunch of cleaning up, reading books, and other fun stuff. My cousin and her family arrive from SC. Big picnic in The Wilds. A nap. Fishing. Camp fire. The rest of the family either heads home, or back to my sister's. That Man, K4, and I stay in The Wilds. We are tired. We hang by the fire with the inlaws. Go to bed stupid early.
Monday:
Wake super early. The inlaw brings us coffee since all of our stuff was at my sister's. We hang for a little by the camper before heading up to my sister's. Everyone is prepping to leave for the coffee shop my son and niece work at. I had been notified of these plans late in the evening, but kind of thought it wasn't actually going to happen. It did and it was fun. We said goodbye to the out of town family and headed back to The Wilds to clean up camp. That took forever because we were tired and didn't really want to do it. K4 left for home while we took our time saying goodbye to the rest of the crew.
Long story, short - K4 got the stomach flu (probably caught from Mr. B). She spent the rest of Monday puking her guts out.
Tuesday:
Day job. Super busy. K4 still sick. Dropped the Jeep off for it's repair. Hopefully it will be back by the weekend. Long day.
Today:
Day job. Still super busy. K4 still sick, but better this evening. Painting.

Thursday... We Love Thursday...
We do. Only because it's so close to Friday
The room is coming along. Though slowly. Tonight was a night off. We have all of the paint. Even the wall color that they gave me at half price because they didn't have the size I needed. We're just tired, and...
Mr. B was sick tonight. His dad had to go to work training and B was hanging out with That Man and I. He puked. He was running a low fever. Poor baby. He snuggled with me all evening, sleeping in intervals while I was writing. Poor baby. He's such a great kid.
My Thursday at the day job was chaos. I don't know if it will stop. I am overwhelmed. I feel like I can't keep up. But I slog along, doing the best I can.
Long weekend coming up. Whoot!
I am going to miss my writing meeting again, which makes me sad, but it can't be helped. My aunt and uncle will be here. I met my goal! (about ten minutes ago) I'm good to go for not feeling guilty this weekend.
One more day before a three day relaxing weekend. I need this weekend so badly.

Tuesday - It Never Ends...
B*tch day at the day job. Just like yesterday. So yeah. We'll see what the rest of the week brings.
Second coat of paint on the walls. We might need a little more paint to finish. It's hard to see where you miss when a four-year old is running his mini-roller all over the place. He was working hard and cracking us up. Next is the trim. Need to hit up the home improvement store tomorrow. They love me right about now...
The trash has been taken out, dinner cleaned up, laundry running. Now it's writing time. I'm days behind on things. It feels like I'm barely keeping my head above water right now. There's too much going on, but it is what it is.
I did pretty good with the word count last night. We'll see if I can hit it again.

It was a crazy weekend!
K4 and I shopped a good part of the day on Saturday. We got some great deals and she found some really nice outfits. We laughed a lot, had lunch, and probably walked five or more miles. Got paint and a few groceries. Came home, took a brief nap, putzed around cleaning up and organizing, paid the bills, and then did a test strip of paint on the walls upstairs.
That Man worked late Saturday. We had dinner - which turned out gross and nearly inedible. Hate when that happens. To bed super early for a Saturday.
Sunday we had K5 for the day. Talk about being wore out. We took her to see That Mom, and she also got to see That Sister. We went to lunch, then shopping for a first day of school outfit - at four different stores until we found something she liked. We had a blast! Hooked up with K2 and J so K5 could meet her new cousin. Quick dinner, then the long drive to take her home. It was a good day! We were completely wore out by the time we got home - late!
Today was K4's first last day of school! We were almost late. There were pictures, but she said no posting. She had a pretty good day.
After dinner, we threw a coat of paint on the walls. With Mr. B's help. Another coat needs to go on tomorrow night, and then the trim. Then the floor. The walls are a "pumpkin orange" at this point - it should get darker and more to the color we picked. It's coming together.
Now it's writing time before I fall asleep!

Feel Good Friday!
Okay. So here's the list...
1. Friday! Duh! It was a rough week at the day job! I love my co-workers though. Today was one of "those" days, where everything came out wrong and we laughed about everything. That makes it all better.
2. Making Chicken Parmesan for dinner. It was a quick meal, but so good. I made the sauce with fresh tomatoes, garden peppers, and mushrooms. I also ran into a friend at the grocery store. That was cool.
3. Getting a bunch of good words on the page this week. I'm loving this new book. So much.
4. Tomorrow's plans to shop with my baby girl.
5. Also, painting this weekend. Mr. B's room is getting painted. It's also going to be my office soon. I need to leave some wall for him to paint, because I promised.
6. .It's also supposed to be super nice weather-wise this weekend. Nice!
7. Plans to go away soon - just That Man and me....
8. Talking to my Aunt and Uncle. They crack me up so much. So looking forward to their visit next weekend!!
That's all I have... K4's bestie is here and it's nonstop...

Summer Survival: Entry: Only. Year: Seven
I find that I never posted a Summer Survival last year.
Maybe because there was only one going back to the educational camps, or maybe because it was probably the most different Summer season we've had so far. And it was chaos.
And now we're in the last Summer season between educational camps. Ever. (Well, there may be some further education, but it won't be the same)
The youngest native starts her senior year of high school in a few days. It is my last first day of school in twenty-three years! 23!!! How strange is that!? I can't wrap my head around it. At all. It seems like only yesterday that I was walking K1 to his first day of Kindergarten.
I love it though. My last senior. Her last year. She's excited to be done with school. So am I. It's similar to when we had our last year at the younger elementary camp. Other folks thought I should be sad that my last child was done with elementary camp. I was thrilled. I feel the same way now.
So my young native is gainfully employed for another day, then the job becomes "days off working" kind of thing. I haven't heard "I'm bored" one time this summer. And while the shells and beads are constantly going to trade for food, and the outlay for educational camp supplies and threads will be much less this year, it's still going to destroy the shells and beads account.
I am looking forward to this last year of educational camp. I am also looking forward to being away from our camp to be in a different camp with family.
Yeah... This is the lamest Summer Survival yet. No wonder I never posted one last year! Ha!

What? Wednesday!
Sorry I kind of fell off the face of the earth for a few days! It's been crazy trying to get this reno project done. Exhaustion is the name of the game these days!
Lots going on!
1. K4 has moved into her new digs. It's not quite done - maybe 85%. There's still trim to be done, a little electric work, lights to hang, and her dressing room/closet to finish. The third coat of poly went down Monday night and we let it cure for 48 hours. (Last night I went to bed at a ridiculously early time, and still didn't sleep) Tonight was moving her things up there. It's coming together and she is very happy with it. We need some more furniture - a coffee table, futon, end tables, lamps - that kind of thing, but we'll get them as we go along. It's a great space - I'm kind of jealous we decided not to go back up, but the double set of stairs would kill That Man's knees.
2. Next is painting/flooring in her old room. Mr. B will take that room for now. Then it will be my office. Now we're choosing paint colors and trying to decide what to do with the floor.
3. After K4's room is done, we'll be redoing the kitchen floor.
4. The house is an utter and complete wreck thanks to the constant work on the bedroom. I hope to get that squared away this weekend, after some painting. The dining room looks like a cross between a tea party, camping preparedness, and a construction zone.
I borrowed my sister's fancy dishes for my niece's baby shower and they're still here. No one has had the time or the room to get them back to where they need to go. Our good neighbor gave us a bunch of dishes for the camper and they're loaded up into the cooler waiting to be put in the camper. And the construction part is self-explanatory.
5. Writing - well. That's happening next. Now that the major work is done, I'm reclaiming my time!
6. Mosquitoes. OMG! You cannot step foot outside without being eaten alive! I never get bit and my legs are covered with bites. It's insane. We can't figure out where they're coming from. We've even done the yard spray stuff. I'm itchy!
7. My sister-in-law has to have surgery on her arm where her grand-dog caused her to fall and get broken. My sister probably has to have gallbladder surgery very soon, too. Oy vey! I worry about them both!
That's all for now!

Feel Good Friday
Thank Goodness Friday is here!
What a brutal week at the day job! We all take a few minutes to decompress together at the end of the day and, today, we just kept looking at each other and going ... uh... Ha! I love my coworkers!
So here's the Feel Good list:
1. Friday! Duh! And you know what? I hate that! I remember when Monday was my best day of the week because it meant I was back to writing. THAT is my goal!
2. Attic progress. Second coat of poly is down. The stairwell has been cleaned and primer began. I need to figure out what to do on the walls to hide the imperfections. Wall covering has not arrived yet. Boo. Ideas are being thrown around. It is coming together. This is my weekend though. I cannot wait until we are done with this project.
3. Air conditioning. Today was probably one of the grossest days we've had all summer. I stepped out to help bring the lunch order into work and it felt like I jumped in a big pot of split pea soup. Then it rained. My windows were down. I wouldn't have known except for the water droplets that were hanging around on my door. It was a jeans stuck to you kind of day and I'm grateful that my house is cool and comfortable.
4. Writing. I did manage to get many words on the page and figure out a significant story element this week. Yay! I like how this new story is coming together.
5. Not having to do a million loads of laundry this weekend. I busted my hump doing laundry yesterday. I have a basket to fold and probably one more load to go and I'm completely caught up.
6. Tomatoes!! Our tomatoes are ripening! I bought a ginormous package of bacon so we can have BLT's! Fresh garden tomatoes are the very best thing. I had one for my lunch the other day and it was amazing!
7. K5. Our granddaughter is such an amazing kid! For the past few years, she's been growing her hair so she can cut it and donate to wigs for kids. Yesterday, she met that goal and had her very first haircut. Gone are her baby curls and baby blonde hair. In its place is a grown up looking girl, who is so beautiful! We're so proud of her. And she looks so stinking grown up! I can't deal!
8. Getting pictures of the new grandson! He is so cute! He has these cute chubby cheeks that I just want to kiss endlessly! And his smile is ridiculously adorable!
9. Plans with That Man to escape to the camping world - just the two of us. The sooner, the better.
10. I'm stretching it now... I've got nothing else I can think of at the moment...

It's All About the Attic...
We're so close.
The first coat of poly went down tonight. It was a brutal dance between me and That Man. He would do a section, dripping in sweat, and then I would take over, also dripping in sweat. It's hot as balls up there. (yes, we have an air conditioner, but don't want to put it in until all of the dust is gone. Plus, everything dries faster without it. There are fans running, but neither did anything for the oppressive heat tonight)
It looks awesome though. Darker than we thought, but still super cool.
Next is a coat of paint on the walls/partial walls that won't be covered in burlap. The rest of the material should be here tomorrow. But we will paint before that. We had to put a coat of poly down first so any errant drops of paint won't suck right into the 111 year old wood floor.
It's a dance. But it's working out so far.
Tomorrow is Friday, which is a good thing on so many levels!
